EP17 - The 12 Universal Laws That Will Change How You Experience Life
===
[00:00:00] So.
Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of the Starlit Success Podcast. I am your host, Jessica Gaines.
Today we're gonna get a little, woo, just a little. I'm just gonna start introducing you slowly into the spiritual world. Join me along for the ride. It's quite interesting. today we're gonna talk about the 12 universal laws. The reason I wanna talk about these is because. I don't think a lot of people are even aware of them.
I think a lot of people understand the law of attraction and really what that means. I know for myself, The law of attraction was really the only universal law that I was familiar with. And I would use it in senses, like when there would be a raffle, I would say, pick, pick Jessica, pick Jessica.
I would think that the energy that I would give it would mean that someone would call my name and then I [00:01:00] would be a winner. I would use it in, in very minor, circumstantial situations. I didn't really understand it at a broader level in a way that I could really apply it to my life and help improve my life.
The 12 universal laws are, they're like these unseen forces that exist. And whether you are aware of them or not, they apply to the very foundation of our life. And when you're aware of them, you can use them for your benefit. You can work with them to make your life better, to make your life easier to manifest the things that you want out of life.
And I wanna emphasize that these are laws, so they're not experiments, they're not opinions. It's not just an idea or something someone came up with.
This is ancient wisdom. The the states back thousands of years. These are observations from the human existence.
And they're, they're constant and they exist everywhere. It's like, it's [00:02:00] like the law of gravity. Think of the law of gravity. It's not something that you can see, that you can feel. It's just, it's there no matter what. It will always exist, and we know it exists,
but not only do we know the law of gravity exists, we accept it and we respect it, and we learn how to work with it.
And when I think of the law of gravity, think of the ways that we use it for our benefit. We use it to have fun. We use it to ski down hills or go sledding. Downhills. We use it for water slides and roller coasters. But we also respect it in the sense where we're not gonna jump out of an airplane without a parachute because we know what would happen.
So we know it exists, we work with it, and we can. We can plan how we live our lives, how we design things, using this knowledge and respecting its existence.
And when you understand. All of the 12 laws, what they actually mean, how they're showing up in your life. Then it helps you [00:03:00] realize that you really are the co-creator of your reality. So whether you're aware of it or not, whether you know about them or not, whether you like it or not, they're there.
But if you know what they are and you know what they bring, you can use them as tools.
They help you navigate life's challenges, help you view things differently, help you overcome obstacles.
When I finally understood what they all were and had more awareness of the different ways that they're showing up in my life then it helped me pay attention to things that I could improve in areas where I needed a little bit more work on.
And one thing I, I have noticed is as I was going through all of these and just kind of planning all my notes and everything, a lot of them overlap. You know, they're, they're kind of like complimentary. A lot of the ideas behind each law intersect with another law or maybe even more than one law.
And as I go through each of these laws, I want [00:04:00] you to just kind of think about the areas of your life where you could apply these to. If you had no awareness of them before, and this is the first time that you've been introduced to them, then think about like, where in my life could I use this law as a tool to help me and help improve my life, maybe help improve the lives of others, and just create the life that I want, create the life of my dreams, you know, be more intentional about my day to day.
Maybe grab a pen and paper if you're somewhere where you can actually do that. If you're driving, if you're in the shower, obviously don't.
So let's just dive in. Okay. So the first one is the Law of Divine Oneness. And what this really means is we're all connected. Everyone is a part of everyone. Everything that we do impacts each other.
So everything is connected through this universal energy. This universal law, right?
And I know that we like to feel that we're unique. You know, we wanna feel like [00:05:00] we're, we're different than the rest. And we wanna highlight the things that make us different. And sometimes we can get a little carried away with that and focus too much on what makes us different and maybe start to focus on the differences instead of what we all have in common.
You know, there's so many things in this world that can divide us between race and religion and gender and all that. You see all of this stuff in the news all the time. I mean, what's going on in the world today is really sad.
I like to think of this law as if we're all one. What if we considered the entire world? Everyone on this planet was a member of our family. What if we considered us all one family unit? How would we show up? How would we treat people differently rather than focusing on what makes us different or better?
That's a big one. Like we're always wanting to to be better than someone else or be stronger [00:06:00] or wealthier or whatever it is. people don't typically act that way when it comes to family like you. You never wanna point out all your differences when it comes to family or how you're better than someone else, or succeeding more than them, or have more money than them, or have a better job than them because you want everyone to feel included.
You want everyone to feel loved. You wanna be there to support each other. So if we looked at the world as your family, how would you show up differently?
Ask yourself, how can you, how can you show more love and empathy and compassion to others that are maybe different than you
or be more accepting to things that maybe you don't understand? Maybe don't be so judgmental. Maybe try to see things from someone else's point of view
you don't have to understand everyone. You don't have to relate to everyone. You don't have to agree with everyone. I mean, I don't always agree with my family. I don't always understand my family, but I still respect them and I still accept them. And that's, [00:07:00] that's the way I look at this law is like, just treat everyone like you would wanna be treated.
It's that golden rule. That's really what it ties back to. And Could you just imagine what this world would look like if everyone understood what this law meant and respected it and accepted it and, and live life that way?
I don't think people really understand that. Your words and your thoughts affect everyone. It's like a ripple effect throughout the entire world. your daily actions, your energy, everything that you give is reflected in your life, and therefore through everyone else.
The way you show up every day, the way you treat other people, you're either creating separation, you are creating division, or ,
you're creating wholeness. How can you create more wholeness with the way that you show up in the world?
Think about when you see someone on the street and maybe they look different than you, maybe they're acting different than you. Maybe they're [00:08:00] dressing completely different than you. What if you looked at them like that was your child? Or what if that was your cousin or your brother? Would you look at them the same way?
Maybe for some of you, you would, but have some compassion. You know, look at them like, you know what? Love them anyway. You know, what are you gonna do? You can't change 'em.
And why would you want to? What? That's what makes the world go round, right? Like, we're all different, but that's what makes it interesting. Just accept everyone. We're all part of the same family.
So that's the bottom line. How can you contribute to this law of divine oneness? How can you contribute to being more inclusive and not so judgy? All right. Law number two, the law of vibration. So science has proven that everything in this world, no matter what it is, is just vibrating. It's just energy that's vibrating. So even physical things, when they look under [00:09:00] a, I don't know what kind of microscope, like some super, super high powered microscope, they've discovered that it's just scattered energy.
Nothing is actually solid.
So this idea is that, you know, everything is vibrating at a certain frequency. And frequency matches frequency. So it's kind of that idea of like your vibe attracts your tribe. So when you're vibrating at a certain level, you're going to attract other people, other situations, relationships that are also vibrating at that frequency.
So for example, if I'm a really high vibe person, which I like to consider myself, high vibe, if someone comes into my area, my circle, my surroundings. If someone comes into my, my energy and they're super negative and they're always complaining and they're always looking at the worst in things and, you know, maybe they're judging people all the time.
Me being a naturally high vibe person, that is, that's not [00:10:00] gonna sit right with me. I don't like that energy, so maybe I don't cause conflict. You know, that's them. I don't, I don't judge. That's how they wanna live. That's how they wanna think. But maybe I just distance myself, you know, maybe I just choose where to spend my time without them.
So if you're aware enough to recognize situations or people that are low, low vibe, then it's easier to protect your energy because number one, just having that awareness alone. One thing is like noticing energy vampires. Like if you're vibrating at a certain frequency and you have a certain vibe about you, and then the minute you're around this person, or the minute that you turn this certain channel on tv or the minute you're in this situation, you start to feel like your energy is decreasing.
Like that's another way to pay attention to just protect your energy. Don't be in situations like that. Don't hang around people like that. You wanna maintain a higher frequency so you can attract higher frequency people, situations, circumstances, [00:11:00] opportunities, things like that.
So like I said, your vibe attracts your tribe. So you, if you have a certain frequency, chances are you're gonna attract other people that are somewhat similar to your frequency that are gonna kind of vibe at the same level that you are. You're typically not gonna see, you know, people that are super positive, super successful, like on the right track with people that are maybe breaking the law or dishonest, or
maybe abusing substances or, or whatever it is, you know, you're not gonna see those two walks of life hang out with each other because they don't, they don't vibe.
Think about it like, um, like tuning into a radio station. So that station, that frequency is already happening. It's already there. It already exists. And once you change the radio dial, I'm dating myself here, once you scan to that station, then you can hear the music or you can hear what's going on on that channel because you're matching that [00:12:00] frequency.
You're turning your frequency to the frequency that that exists on, and then that way you can receive it. So you have to learn how to maintain your energy and keep it high vibe so that you're attracting that high vibe back
and just like I said, as far as like. Protecting your energy. You also have to learn how to raise it. So like if you're in a low energy state , like you're just feeling down, what can you do to raise it? You know, maybe there's something really simple that you can do, like taking a bubble bath or going on a walk, or maybe some yoga or some exercise.
Like what can you do to raise that vibration so you don't get stuck down there and start attracting low vibe things.
And just be authentic. have authentic energy. Don't be fake. Don't force it when you're authentic and you, you just show your natural energy that will naturally filter out all of your experiences and people and situations you're automatically going to attract. Those [00:13:00] that are meant for you by the energy that you give off, and then you're automatically going to repel the things that are not meant for you.
So me, for example, doing this, I might repel just this episode alone talking about universal laws. I might repel people right away. I might get people that are like, what the heck is that? Universal laws? I don't believe in that woo woo stuff. And then they bounce and they stop listening. But. That's not necessarily a bad thing because that just means this isn't meant for them, right?
they're not on the same frequency that I'm at now. The people that hear this episode and they're like, oh, wow, that's really interesting. I never heard about that before. Or maybe I never heard about it in that way. I'm interested. I wanna learn more. And they're kind of like leaning in. Well, now I'm attracting the people that are naturally aligned with my energy.
I'm not faking it. This is stuff that I genuinely believe in and that I'm super passionate about. So I'm okay [00:14:00] with repelling people too. And you should be also, like, whatever you're doing, you're going to get people that like it and you're gonna get people that hate it. And it doesn't matter either way because the people that like it are the ones that matter and the people that don't, don't what are, what is that saying?
Those who mind don't matter and those who matter, don't mind. So that's, that's the way I look at the Law of vibration, okay? So be yourself. Pay attention to your energy. Look at how you can maintain your energy, protect your energy. Look how you can stay in a high vibe state.
And just pay attention to who you're around. pay attention to energy vampires, you know, pay attention to your circle. You're gonna naturally influence each other just by exchanging energy all the time. You're exchanging energy. So if you're always exchanging energy, just make sure that you're very conscious of the people, the situations, the environments where you're doing that.
Number three, the law of correspondence. and this one is kind of [00:15:00] that idea that I've mentioned several times,
that idea of that as within, so without or as above, so below. Your external reality is, it's like a mirror to whatever's going on internally.
The idea is whatever you consistently think, believe, and feel will have a direct impact on your life, on your relationships, on your experiences, the situations that you're in.
So it's like the meaning that you give things, your perception on situations, your interpretation of things, that is going to naturally reflect the way reality is for you. So if you're consistently conflicted or you're consistently down and you're looking at things in a very negative or pessimistic way, all of that is gonna show up externally for you.
So if you're always looking for the worst in something, or if you're always focused on the problem, or if you [00:16:00] always have kind of like this victim mentality, then that is what you will see in your external reality. So it's kind of like That confirmation bias idea is whatever you have internally, whatever beliefs you have internally, your brain is gonna look for that, look for proof of that in your external world, and that's gonna just draw more of that in.
So for example, like if you're, if your reality, if your life right now isn't exactly what you want, or maybe it's really hard or you're struggling in some areas, look internally and find out what is going on inside that is creating this to happen. And I'm saying it from a point of like, for, for example, for myself, like the struggles that I've had in my life, I've had to look inward and figure out like, why is this happening?
What, what beliefs do I have about myself or life or the thoughts that I have inside are causing this to show up for me? Or how can I view this differently? How can I view this in a [00:17:00] different light to manifest in more of a positive way? So if I'm feeling unfulfilled at a job, for example, rather than sitting there and being super negative about it and complaining about it, letting it like fester and dwell in it, give it a different meaning.
It's like, what, what is the showing me about myself? Where do I need to do some, inner work and some inner healing to figure out how do I change this external experience? And that's exactly what I'm doing. So pay attention to the meaning that you're giving things. Pay attention to the way that you're perceiving things, because your reality is just going to confirm that and it's just going to manifest in that way.
And if you have patterns, if you see that there are patterns in your life that are maybe obstacles or struggles or things that you're not totally happy with, identify what those could mean. You know, look, for the deeper meaning in it and how, what is going on inside of you has [00:18:00] had an impact on that external thing.
All right, the next one is the most famous one, and that is the Law of Attraction so I think most of us know what this means. so I'll cover it somewhat briefly., This is one where it kind of, I feel like it kind of overlaps with the law of vibration because the idea is like attracts like, and in my mind that's very similar to the law of vibration because you're saying in that law, your frequency, you have to be a match for the frequency of whatever it is that you wanna draw in.
So the law of attraction is saying that you need. your energy, your thoughts, your focus, all of that is drawing similar experiences and similar energies to you. You have to have the law of vibration in order for the law of attraction to work because you attract what you are and not necessarily just what you want.
So for example, if I want a loving relationship, let's say I wanna, okay, I'm happily married, I'm [00:19:00] not looking for that. But if you are someone that's looking to attract a loving relationship. Is that what you truly believe is possible? You can't sit there and want to attract a loving relationship, but then you're someone who thinks men are dogs or women are not trustworthy or whatever it is your beliefs are.
You have to be a match for whatever it is that you want to receive.
if you want something, is your internal state a match for that thing? Is your vibration a match to whatever it is that you wanna draw in? So if you wanna attract a loving relationship, but deep down, you know, you can't trust anyone, or you feel like there is no one really that's gonna meet your criteria, maybe you have like this really strict checklist of what it is you're looking for in someone.
You can't send out that conflicting energy because you're not matching yourself to it. You have to be open to receiving whatever it is that you want, and you have to believe that it's possible. And put yourself in [00:20:00] situations that's only going to increase the likelihood of it happening.
And I think that's a big mistake that a lot of people make is number one, they're saying they want something and maybe they're even taking the necessary action to get it, but deep down, they don't really believe that they're worthy of it, or they don't really believe that it'll happen.
They don't have faith in it, but they're just going through the motions. that's probably one of the hardest things to do, is to know what you want, but then also get into a state where you know that it's possible for you. The other mistake that I think a lot of people make is just focusing on what they don't want. if you are someone that is looking for a loving relationship, but then you're constantly talking about all the things that you don't want in a person, or things that you don't want in a relationship while you're, you're sending out that conflicting energy, you're not becoming a vibrational match to really draw it in.
So get clear on what it is that you want. figure out what kind of person do you need to be in order to really draw that [00:21:00] in. Who do you need to become in order to have that thing? Because it all starts within you.
You are going to be the one that attracts whatever it is that you want in life. So you have to really be clear and really just emit that energy.
All right, Number five, the law of inspired action.
So this one is, you know, when you hear the law of inspired action, what does inspired mean?
You know, feeling inspired. It's kind of hard to explain. It's something that just kind of comes to you. So you have to really be in touch with your intuition. And everybody has it. Not everybody really knows how to use it, but you have to know what that feels like and you have to pay attention to it.
So, I think I've mentioned it before, but there's a lot of times that I will gravitate towards my laptop and just start typing out an idea. Or maybe I sit down to plan one episode and another idea just kind of pops in my head and I don't, I can't really explain what that is, but it just, it just comes to me like, I just feel [00:22:00] inspired to do it.
So just like acting on those feelings and connecting with yourself.
But it's also taking action. But it should feel more in flow, more easy. It shouldn't feel forced. It shouldn't feel like hustle, right? It shouldn't feel like something that you have to do think of it like, like you're following a light that's shining versus, having to tackle a linebacker to get whatever it is that you want.
one of them is just more guided and easier and flow, and one of them is just difficult and hard and it feels like a struggle.
So it's just, it's just something that you're naturally drawn to, right? You don't have to make yourself do it.
This gentle nudge that's kind of showing you the way or, or guiding you to what you need to do, but it's also doing something about it. So let's say I just get an idea in my head and I'm like, oh, that would be a really great topic for an episode.
but then I don't actually sit down to plan it,
my husband for example, the [00:23:00] way he explains it is like he hears something in his head. So he hears something and then he does something about it. Like, then he goes down to his studio and he starts recording. it's the combination of feeling that, that gentle nudge, following that inspiration and then also doing something about it.
So not just sitting around and wishing for things or sitting around and dreaming and being creative, but also getting to a point where you're taking action and you're, you're putting something out into the world. Now, I could have sat here and thought about. Creating my own podcast and thought about all these different ideas, but then I actually have to sit down and do it and put in the work.
And while I am naturally guided and nudged to plan all of this content , a lot of them just kind of flow through me. It's, it's not something that I have to really consciously think about, but the whole action side of things that does require me, like planning or scheduling a day to sit down and record and actually get it out, I have [00:24:00] to have both.
So you can't just sit around and dream and wish or wait to feel ready. You need that action part to actually get it out and make stuff happen. But. It's not just about hard work, people that think that, oh, you know, work hard and hustle and, make it happen, you shouldn't feel like you're forced to do things out of, out of fear or out of pressure, or like you're late.
Like, I gotta, I gotta get this done. you can't bring that energy into whatever it is that you're creating. It's gotta feel natural.
Because what's gonna happen is if you have that force and that hustle mentality, you're likely just gonna lead to stress and exhaustion and you're probably gonna end up burning out anyway.
And when I say take action, I'm not saying like create this giant plan. But if you break something down into very, very, very small chunks and it doesn't seem as overwhelming, and you just, if you take a little bit each day, then over time that will turn into something big.
So just look at your life and look at your daily actions, what you're doing every [00:25:00] day. Is that a aligned with something that you wanna do? And is that aligned with what your ultimate goal is or what your ultimate dream is?
And if not, if what you're doing every day isn't aligning towards what you wanna work towards, like how could you learn how to be more present and get more still and get more quiet and allow for those intuitive nudges to come in?
Alright, Number six, the law of perpetual transmutation of energy. . That was a mouthful. Perpetual transmutation. That's a big one. So this, again, I feel like this one kind of interacts with the law of vibration again, the idea here is that energy cannot be. Created or destroyed. So energy is just constant, right?
And we have the ability to transmute energy. We can transmute it from bad to good. We can transmute it from good to bad, but it doesn't just stop. It doesn't end.
So this is the idea that you can change the conditions of your life by changing your energy. So this [00:26:00] also kind of overlaps with the law of correspondence
because it's like the, the law of correspondence is that whole idea of as within, so without, so wherever your attention is going is where your energy is flowing. So if you're giving negative things attention, then that is what is going to manifest for you. But you also have the ability to transmute bad energy into good energy.
If you encounter a really negative situation, the law of correspondence is saying. Your external reality is going to be a reflection of how you're perceiving it. So if you are in a negative situation and you are just living in the problem and you're only focused on the problem and you're having that like victim mentality and you can't see past that, then that is what is going to be real for you.
So that's kind of where it overlaps with the law of correspondence., But what the law of perpetual transmutation of energy is saying is that you can turn those negative emotions [00:27:00] into something positive. The different examples I've given just within my family.
So I took my negative feelings of feeling unfulfilled and I'm turning them into something positive rather than living in the problem of feeling unfulfilled in my nine to five, I am counteracting that I'm transmuting that negative energy into something positive. So my unfulfillment turned into me sending positive messages to everyone else, or my son whose friend committed suicide.
He could have stayed in a depression
and just kind of lived in that low vibration for a while, but instead he transmuted That sadness into helping others and creating that mental health group. So what can you do? What is a negative situation in your life that you can turn into something positive? oh, one thing I just thought of this.
My mom, I remember when I was a kid. when we were driving [00:28:00] and let's say, I don't know, she's not a bad driver, but let's say she did something that someone didn't like. I don't know if she cut 'em off or she hit her brakes. I was a kid and they would flip her off and I remember her always turning and smiling and waving at them.
I was always like, why are you waving at them? They just flipped you off. But that's just who she is. She's like, okay, I'm not gonna give that energy back to you. I'm not gonna fuel that energy. I'm gonna turn your flipping me the bird into a, Hey, how's it going? You know, just transmuting that into something positive.
And then I feel like it just kind of disarms them. 'cause they're like, what the hell are you doing, lady? Why are you, why are you waving at me? But you can disarm negativity by reacting to it in a very like calm and gentle way. So where can you take negative situations in your life and transmute it into something positive?
All right. Number seven, the law of cause and effect are also known as karma i'm sure [00:29:00] you've heard that term before. So really, I mean this, this one is kind of self-explanatory, but it's really just that idea of every action has a reaction. So everything you put out, you'll get back. And it's the idea of, you know, what goes around comes around.
It's that boomerang, you throw something out, it's gonna come right back. And maybe in, some cases it doesn't come right back. Maybe it goes out there, you throw that thing out there for a while, but eventually it's gonna come back and whatever it is that you put out is going to come back to you.
And for me, I feel like this is one that kind of overlaps with that law of divine oneness. Because if we're all connected, if everything in this world and this universe is connected, then how could it not come back to us? Right? It's kind of like that throwing a pebble in a pond, you know, it just kind of slowly ripples out, right?
So that action has a reaction. And if we're everyone in [00:30:00] that pond, then everyone's gonna feel it.
Or it's like the, the butterfly effect. Where they say like a tiny little, the flap of a butterfly's wings in one part of the world can completely change something on the other side of the world. So the law of cause and effect is like you might think something very small that you do won't have any big impact, but you don't realize how that kind of trickles out throughout the world.
And the things that you do, they don't just affect you, they affect everyone else around you. And that's kind of where I believe that, this also kind of ties into the law of divine oneness because you might think something really small that you do doesn't change anything or doesn't impact anyone else, but you may not see how it does.
And you also have to look at the way your actions are creating the effects in your life.
I think a lot of people tend to live in the effect side of their life, like they aren't the one who caused it. But you have to remember that no matter where you are in your life, there's something that you did to create your [00:31:00] situation.
You can't sit there and point fingers and be a victim and say that, you know, all of this just happened to me. Like, you have the ability to change your response to things. So you have the ability to be in cause of your life, and you have to look at your life from both sides.
You have to take responsibility for where you are in your life, and even if there are situations outta your control, what can you do about them to start getting back into cause and not just living so much in the effect side.
So just changing, when I say changing the cause, you know, that just means changing your behaviors, changing your thoughts, changing your beliefs about something that that will naturally impact the way that it shows up for you.
And also just respecting the fact that any actions that you take aren't just impacting yourself. They're impacting everyone else around you.
number eight, the law of compensation. so really what this law is, is it just means that you'll be compensated or [00:32:00] rewarded for all of the positive energy that you put out into the world. And for me, I feel like this is also one that kind of overlaps with the cause and effect.
But this is more so like the reward that you will receive as the effect of the cause. So whatever positive thing that you did, you will be rewarded positively for it. And when I say compensation, I think when we hear compensation, we naturally think of money, like , some form of like payment, but.
it doesn't just have to be money. It could be love, health, relationships, opportunities. It's not just limited to money, but what it's saying is if you're positively contributing, if you're making positive contributions to the world, over time, you will be compensated for that.
You will reap what you sow.
Because this is a universal law, it's made me kind of understand like, when someone does something nice for you, I feel like that's why you naturally just [00:33:00] want to do something nice for them. Or if someone wants to pay for something for you, you naturally wanna pay them back.
Or you're like, well, what can I, can I give you money for that? And they're like, no, no, no, no. And you're like, no, no, no, just let me, just let me, because it's like this, this universal law, it's like this energy that you, you feel naturally drawn to compensate someone for what they've done. And maybe it's just a good deed.
Maybe they did something nice for you. You genuinely, well, most people maybe, maybe not everyone, but I know when people do something nice for me, I naturally wanna do something nice back for them or that I wanna compensate them in some way. And that's, that's how the universe works.
And I like to think of this as like, if you're doing something positive in the world and you're providing a service or you're providing value and you're not necessarily expecting anything in return, it will naturally just come to you. You know, I, I have this saying, and it's impact over income if you're more focused on servicing others and not so much what you're getting out of it.
' to me, [00:34:00] I feel like when, when you're focused on getting something out of something, if you're doing something for someone and you're expecting payment, that's a job, you're working for them, then it's not a contribution. But if you're doing things just genuinely out of the goodness of your heart, you'll be rewarded in time.
So if you want to receive love, give love. If you want to receive abundance, be generous.
Whatever it is that you're giving and you're putting out, you're gonna get that back.
Number nine, the law of Relativity. so the law of relativity is really saying that everything is relative. I always say being rich is relative and success is personal. And the reason I say being rich is relative is because this is the whole idea of the law of relativity.
The meaning that you give something really comes down to just your perspective on it. Or maybe it's the way that you're comparing it to something else
this was kind of hard for me to process when I heard the [00:35:00] idea that everything in life is neutral, nothing really has meaning other than the meaning that you give it. And I'm like, what does that, no, that's not true.
No. That's, that's the way this is. And this is the way that is. No, that's the way you perceive it. Everyone has a different perception of things and a different perspective. So you can have the exact same situation happen to two different people and they will have two different ideas of what happened.
That's why they always say there's three sides to a story. There's their version, the other person's version, and then the truth, because it's the meaning that they gave the way that they digested it.
So if you're comparing yourself to a multimillionaire, you might think, man, I'm broke. Or if you compare yourself to someone who is living in poverty, then maybe you're rich. It's all, it's all relative. You know, a problem that you have could be someone else's dream.
Like if you're complaining about your job, there's someone else out there [00:36:00] who is praying for a job.
If you are complaining about the pain in your back or the pain in your legs, there's someone else out there who's paralyzed. So it's all relative. It's how you're looking at it, what your experiences have been, what is true for you, what is the meaning that you're actually giving something.
And there's a quote, I feel like that really helps explain this, and it's from Oprah, and she says, if you look at what you have in your life, you'll always have more. And if you look at what you don't have, you'll never have enough. So it's just how, how are you looking at things?
All right. Number 10, the law of Polarity. And basically all this means is that everything has, its polar opposite. So you wouldn't even know what hot was if you didn't know what cold was, and you wouldn't know what darkness was. If you didn't know what light was.
Or happiness and sadness. The reason that happiness feels so good is because you know how sadness feels, and the reason that you love a sunny [00:37:00] day or a sunny warm day is because you know what a cold dreary day feels like. that's why you like it so much is because you have something to compare it to there's some contrast.
So the way you can use this is understanding that. Because everything has an opposite. You know that if you have a problem, there's a solution or if there's an obstacle, you know, there's an opportunity.
So by shifting your perspective on something, you can actually transform it.
I feel like this is one that actually overlaps with several of these other laws, because it's like, , if you're in a low point of your life and you just get stuck in that low, and you don't focus on where you can get out of it, or focus on how it could improve, or how you can make things better, then you're not gonna change anything.
But also, like, if you're in a really high point of your life and everything is going really well, and maybe you're really happy you're making money, like you have your health, don't take that for granted. I, I'm not saying like anticipate the low, but stay [00:38:00] humble and appreciate what you have because you know what the opposite looks like.
You know what the opposite feels like.
If you keep being faced with things that you don't want in your life, then look at it from the point of view of like, now I know what I don't want, so that is just going to help me know what I do want. So that contrast helps you have a little bit more clarity, right? You need that polar opposite.
You need to have something not go right for you to realize like what you need to change.
All right, the next one, law number 11, the law of rhythm. This is probably my favorite law. I've heard this term rhythm before, but I never understood the power of it. I remember someone saying. Pay attention to your rhythm or respect your rhythm. And I'm like, what the heck does that even mean? But when I understood what the universal law of Rhythm meant, it made so much sense.
And really what that is, is everything has a rhythm [00:39:00] in the world. Like there are just like these natural ebbs and flows to life. And the best way I can describe it is just by the seasons. So you know, you're gonna have a winter, a spring, a summer and a fall. we know what.
To expect in the winter and the spring and the summer and the fall. And we know that in the spring, that is the time to plant. And we know in the summer, that's kind of like the, the good times, right? Everything's planted, the hard work's done. We can just kind of relax and enjoy and then fall comes.
Now we gotta do some harvesting. It's hard work, but it's also like abundance, right? you're reaping all of those rewards from all of the hard work of planting and all that. And then you have the winter, so now you've got all of the things that you've harvested, and now it's just a time of rest.
But it's also a little hard. Winters can be tough, right? They're cold, you're stuck inside. Maybe that's kind of harsh. The weather's really harsh, but you know, it'll pass, you know, after winter, spring is [00:40:00] gonna come.
And it's just a matter of respecting that this is just the way it is. You know, every day the sun comes up and the sun goes down. There's a morning, there's an afternoon, and there's a night, and you can work with them. So myself, like, okay, on a really hot summer day, and I know, let's say it's gonna be 90 degrees and sunny, I'm not gonna walk my dog at three in the afternoon when it's like the, the hottest point of the day.
I'm gonna respect the rhythm of the day, and I'm gonna walk her at night when the sun goes down. Respect the rhythm of yourself. Respect your energy.
So apply nature's seasons to your life. look at where you are in your life. Are you in a winter, you know, like for my, my son for example, like he has been in a winter, you know, with the injuries and all that. I had to remind him that you're in your winter right now. don't force anything.
do what you need to do and understand, spring is right around the corner. So think about yourself even in just like your daily life. pay attention to your [00:41:00] energy levels. Pay attention to your natural rhythm. So are you an early bird? Are you a night owl? What point of the day do you have the most energy?
What point of the day are you most creative? And use that to work with it. Don't force against it. If you're not an early bird like myself, I'm not an early bird. I'm more of a night owl. I'm not gonna force myself to do like really creative things in the morning or be really productive in the morning because that's just gonna make it harder.
And I feel like a mistake that a lot of people make is they just like force. They just try to like fight through it. It's like swimming upstream and it's like you don't have to do that. Just learn how to work with your natural energy, work with the natural rhythm of your life, of your days.
And it's, it's not a natural way of thinking to think you need to always be planting something or always be harvesting something or always be resting. you have to know what points you need to alter your energy.
You can't [00:42:00] just expect things to be one way all of the time. It's just kind of, kind of like these hills and valleys, and you just have to respect that and learn how to just go with the flow. So instead of like fighting the waves, it's kind of, this is the way I like to look at it. let's say there's waves coming and you're trying to swim, you know, work with them, go with the waves to gain momentum rather than fighting against them.
Okay, the last one, law number 12. This is the Law of Gender. There's a whole nother episode on this that really, really dives deep, it's about masculine and feminine energy, and the law of gender states that it's, it's not necessarily a physical gender, but there are energies in the universe that require both masculine and feminine energy for any kind of creation to occur.
So the masculine is like the, the taking action. The doing the. Logic, the plan, and then you have the, the feminine energy. Whereas like, it's the, it's [00:43:00] the receiving, it's the allowing, it's just like the being, right? You're just present and you have to have both. And this is where I feel like it's, this one kind of overlaps with the law of inspired action because that one is, VA very good combination of both energies.
It's that intuitive receiving of that nudge and then it's that that's the feminine and then it's that masculine part of the action of the actually doing something about it.
So it's that, it's that yin and the yang. So the yin is the feminine and the yang is the masculine
And another way to look at it, if you're more of like a logical person and not someone like that's super spiritual, it's the left and right brain. I've heard people at work talk about like, oh, I'm, I'm super left brain and my wife's super right brain or, or vice versa.
And the left brain is that, that masculine brain, right? It's that, that logic, right? That critical thinking. And then the right brain is more of like that creativity and that nurturing, right? You've got, you've got the balance of both. Even your brain [00:44:00] has the balance of both. Okay?
So everything has masculine and feminine energies. Every person has masculine and feminine energies. It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman.
And whatever it is that you're doing, you need a balance of both. You have to have both energies in order to make anything work.
There's also a second part to this law, which says that there's a like a gestation period. So not only do you need that, that inspiration, that receiving and that allowing, and then the actual doing. So for example, I like to use the whole planting a garden metaphor.
So you have to have the action of planting the garden, but then you also have to have just that allowing to letting it grow and letting it work on nature's time. So it's that gestation period. So you need to give things time for them to grow.
think about like a pregnancy, right? If a woman gets pregnant, she doesn't have the baby the next day. You just have to allow, you just have to [00:45:00] be in that mode where you just allow things to happen naturally. you can't expect things to just happen overnight, right?
And you can't have too much of one or the other. If you just water the garden constantly you're gonna drown it. And then if you just let it be too much, then it, maybe it doesn't get any water and then it dies. You have to do both.
But some people, I think, live in too much masculine energy where they just wanna control and they always wanna act and plan and do, and they don't have that balance of just like letting things in and just allowing things to happen. But then you also have people that are too much and they're feminine and they just sit around and they wait.
And they wish and they, they hope and they dream, but they don't take any action. you need, you need both.
So those are the 12 laws of the universe. And like I said, they exist whether you wanna accept them or not, whether you are aware of them or not. But now that you know what they [00:46:00] are, now you understand how they work, how you can actually apply them to your daily life.
you can use them as tools to help you and work with them and make your life just easier and flow more naturally.
So understanding these laws is just the first step. just having awareness that these laws even exist, I think is just gonna help you, period.
Where in your life have you been maybe disobeying some of these laws? where in your life could you use some of these to help you to make things better? To live a life that's just in more harmony? Okay, so I would love if you told me which one. Were you completely unaware of? Which one Have you maybe been disobeying?
Maybe you've been breaking some laws. Which one's your favorite? Like I said, mine, mine is the, the law of rhythm, because I never really thought of things like that. I was more of like a hustle mentality. I thought you always just had to like, you just, just force things. I didn't realize like, no, like it's okay to rest and it's okay to just allow, it's okay to pay attention to my energy [00:47:00] levels.
